Savannah is one of my favorite getaways. No better place to unwind. When I think about the South, I think of Savannah. There are not many little cities that are this nice. With more than 20 beautiful parks scattered all around town and a thriving river front district, it makes for a wonderful destination. The citizens seem to go out of their way to be helpful and courteous. One warning. You don’t know hot until you’ve been to Savannah in the summertime. If you plan to arrive in the hot humid summer months you’ll need to get some beach time in. Tybee Island off the coast of Savannah is the perfect spot. Tybee has a mix of small shops and restaurants so you can make an entire day of it. It lies about 20 minutes from downtown Savannah and is worth the drive. If you’re so inclined, you can get a frosty margarita or ice cold beer at the boardwalk bar.

Times are tough

In the current economic climate we’re all looking for ways to save. This shouldn’t mean we can’t get away for a break. That’s why we’re putting this project together. We want to form a community around economical travel. That doesn’t have to mean roughing it in a tent. These troubled times have brought about many opportunities for savings.

So stay tuned. We have some great things planned. We’ll be posting blog entries and doing video reports. We’ll be doing reviews and putting together some affordable options for you to get away on a budget.
